1. Artificial intelligence will become more widespread.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning have been hot tech topics for years. For example, AI is improving insurance industry by creating a better user experience.

Even in retail sector, it is likely to be used from point of operator profitability.  For instance, technology company NVIDIA found AI deployment in retail stores.  This enabled the stores to catch 98% of the thefts and frauds instances of theft, fraud leading to quick return on investments.. More AI implementations could be such as voice assistant, personalised customer experiences and e-commerce chatbox services

2. The 5G rollout ramp up.

The uses of deploying 5G technology are numerous and significant. The adoption of 5G technology began in 2019, but the pandemic significantly delayed rollout domestically and internationally. With its fast adoption, companies are improving its cellular capability that includes fast data transfer. According to cell phone manufacturers 5G also promises no latency or delay in data transfer.

Elimination of latency will help in developing the Internet of Things (IoT), as 5G networks are more capable of supporting the influx of interconnected smart devices than 4G or Wi-Fi.

3. Employee monitoring software

Employee monitoring software for Hybrid and Remote Working teams is going to catch up as hybrid and remote working models are here to stay.

 The shift to remote work has changed businesses in terms of productivity, engagement, culture, two-way communication and employee development, and has highlighted the need for effective technology to help navigate these challenges. In fact, demand for employee monitoring software has continued to trend upward since the start of the pandemic and a widespread shift to work-from-home arrangements.

4. Need for perfecting remote onboarding

As more and more companies adopt the hybrid working model, there is a need for perfecting onboarding for remote employees. It has been found that one-third of new hires will look for a new job due to poor onboarding.

5. Tech-assisted retail shopping will expand.

IN order to cut their cost and increase profitability, the retailers have been focussing on rollout of mobile and social media apps to create a contactless shopping experience.

Small businesses will begin to follow suit as the price point on some of these technologies becomes more manageable. Already Mobile payments have grown to include QR codes, mobile terminals and mobile wallets. Mobile payments have become a baseline requirement for all retailers.
