Revolutionising Playtime

Is your child bored of playing with the same toy? Exchange it for a new one every time at The Elefant Toy Library

The Elefant is India’s first mobile-based toy library where parents can conveniently order toys through their smartphones and get them delivered to their doorsteps. What makes it different is that the parents can rotate toys for new ones (on a weekly basis depending on the subscription) whenever the child is bored of playing with it. “When parents subscribe to “the Elefant-the Toy Library,” they save money, reduce the clutter at home, and encourage sustainable play. We enable toy rotation for a child’s overall development,” says Sourabh Jain, Founder and CEO of ‘the Elefant Toy Library’, which is currently operational in 17 cities across India and has successfully established a network of over 54 librarians and 2,000+ subscribers in the last year.

The Elefant has an extensive collection of over 600 toys curated by educators, from more than 70 leading brands, including IQ, STEM, and educational toys, catering to children aged 0 to 12 years. One of the standout features of ‘the Elefant’ is its commitment to women’s empowerment, and so the company partners with women to set up toy libraries from the comfort of their homes, with this, Jain aspires to create India’s largest fleet of women entrepreneurs. This initiative allows women to not only have a fixed income but also a variable income based on their efforts, fostering financial independence and community engagement. “The Elefant librarian is not just about starting a business; it’s about becoming part of a community committed to transforming the lives of children through the power of play,” says Jain.

In addition to home libraries, the Elefant offers a unique opportunity for families to bond and engage in play at their one-of-a-kind Play Arena. These interactive spaces allow parents and children to bond over toys, creating memorable experiences while promoting social interaction and cooperative play. “We are also collaborating with schools to set up a toy library in their school or to offer subscriptions to children from 3-12 age groups to enable children to play with the widest range of toys on rotation,” informs Jain.
